Something came up on Sunday night. My friend R overdosed on sleeping pills, she took about 70 tablets (she said, but nobody knew whether it's true).
Another friend I got a call from her first, she went to her home (since she lives alone). After she got there, she called an other friend of mine, N, and she called me. We all went to her home to checked on her, when she's drinking Chivas (didn't even bother to use a glass). For sure R looked terrible, and she told all of us that she's going back to her home city (where her parents are) on Monday morning.
The whole thing was because R just got out from a bad relationship, or was she really out... she and her boyfriend, they just kept breaking out and getting back... But it seemed that her ex was dating someone else.
Anyway, N went back home to get some sleep, and I and I were staying with her. We didn't dare to leave her alone, since we don't know what she's gonna do to herself. At that night, R once rushed out of her appartment, with no shoes on, also not much clothes on, we just dragged her back in; or she kept calling her ex via both mobile and home; when talking with her ex or her ex's mother on phone, she kept drinking Chivas. It's how we spent the night.
At around 4am (yes, morning), N came back with her brother, because her brother could drive us to the airport. We got there around 5:30am, met I's boyfriend, since there’re no one at the ticketing counter until 6:30, so we decide we all should eat something. After settling down with our breakfast, R suddenly said that she's not taking off until she met her ex...
What a nice surprise!!! We told her she should at least fly back to her home town to see her parents first, since that very night she cried and told her parents everything on the phone, including the overdose, she should at least let her parents see her. But she just said it's no use if we forced her to go back, she could check-in and everything, but there's no one could force her to get on the plane; even she did, she could find a way to come back.
What if her ex didn't want to see her (and it's very likely after the whole night non-stop calling)? She said she would just go and knock on his door, and he definitely would see her... she had to take revenge at what he did to her no matter what... blah blah blah
Five people, sitting at the airport to stay with her, at 6am, and now she told us she's not going?? She said she would come back after seeing (or taking revenge) her ex. Do you believe that?
We asker her to call her parents, she wouldn't. Then, we asked her to tell us her parents' number, we wouldn't tell. At last, she called her father and told him she's not coming back that day.
When leaving the airport, we called R's relatives in HK (without telling her) see if they could take care of her for a while, since we all needed to take rest and go to work. N’s brother took us to where R's relatives lived without her knowing it. After we stopped the car and her relative appeared, R went all crazy and just run across the road. We're able to stop her 'cuz she fell off. We left her to her relatives, when she kept yelling she wanted to see her ex or something, and blaming us making things complicated.
I heard that R's father flew to HK that day, and she went back to her home city that night. She did meet her ex, but with her father and his mother and her relative and her friend present (they stood at the door).
To tell the truth, I was really pissed that night. There're many ways to be miserable and depressed, but what she did... I have not doubt she's very sad, but I also felt that she's a little attention-seeking.
I had depression few years ago, along with anorexia and bulimia. I know how sad a person could be, just watching what she did to everyone who around her and care about her, I realize it's so helpless when you could only watch but not be able to help.
